Just like a cat, Jean is fierce and outgoing. If you cross her wrong path, you're bound to feel the wrath. She can easily be your best friend just as she can be your worst enemy and the lines to cross them are razor thin. She hasn't been with Zion Mystique too long, but she can already tell that she's feeling more at home than she ever had.
QUIRKS: Combative, Outgoing, Deceitful, Flirtatious, and Calculated LIKES: Money, Clothing, Attention, Romance, Cats, and Music DISLIKES: Dogs, Her Mother, The Italian Language, Reading and Chivalry
While her father protected her as best as he could, Jean's mother was a force to be reckoned with so Jean is always on her guard. Flirtatious by nature, Jean often likes to take the upper hand in any interaction she has. Men are hard pressed to resist her and so it allows her to empty their pockets before they even know what's happening to them.
For the last year, she's been on the run from her family, so her trust doesn't come without a price. She's been hurt too many times to regard people so intimately. Jean gave up on love after she killed Elizabeth and to this day she still suffers from anxiety when she thinks about loving anyone again. A soft purr comes from her chest when she feels comfortable enough with you, but these days it happens less and less. If you happen to have the honor of becoming close to her, she still only regards you when she feels like it.
People constantly fascinate Jean. Ever since she was a little girl, she loved to observe the way people did things. She's outgoing and friendly right off the bat when she meets anyone. People seem to be easy to read to her, even if she keeps them at an arms length. Some men have claimed she used a witch-like power of seduction to bleed them for all they were worth, but Jean is not magic, she is just good at what she does.
HEIGHT: 5'7 WEIGHT: 126 lbs HAIR: Chesnut Brown EYES: Brown
The freckles that dance across Jean's face often make her appear younger than she is, which helps when she's trying to swindle men out of their money. Her chesnut hair maintains a slight wave and reached to the middle of her back. Her lips have a fullness to them that makes her look as if she were in a constant pout and her smile is wide when she is happy.
By the time Gideon Ramsey had married, he’d given up on having more children. Unfortunately his new wife, Alba Mascolo, became pregnant the night they wed. Nine months later Jean Barbara Ramsey was born. Born to an Italian immigrant and a mine worker, the Ramseys lived meagerly in small town near the forest in Montana. Jean first shifted as at 11, an uncomfortable explanation when a cougar was laying on their daughters bed, but explanation soon came from Gideon who was a shifter himself.
Sadly for Jean, Alba was a vengeful woman. Her parents were constantly battling and Jean often became caught up in the middle of it. One night when she was 14, she caught her mother in bed with another man. Fearing Alba’s wrath, she remained quiet about it. This went on for years, a different man in bed with her every time, and Jean felt the lies pile up in her brain. Different suitors would leave her mother trinkets after they’d left her bed, and Jean was constantly fascinated by them.
In her teens, she began to realize that while men possessed the trinkets, they never made her heart flutter. She did find that she could make theirs flutter and with that get a myriad of nice things she wanted. On one such particular instance, she found herself picking a purse of a disgusting man who had to have been twice her age. She’d never felt a thrill such as that and found herself doing it more often.
At 18, Jean met Elizabeth Green. A socialite with the brightest smile and a kind heart. The two began spending a lot of time together and soon it budded into a lurid love affair. They met in secret away from their families watchful eyes. Still unsure of how to control her shifting, Jean was prone to shifting at inopportune moments. During a tryst with Elizabeth on a full moon, Jean began the painful shift into a cougar. Frightened, Elizabeth fled and Jean ran after her. She hadn’t meant to kill her when she pounced, she only wanted her to stop running but by the time she had shifted back, Elizabeth was dead.
From then on she worked diligently to hone her skills, shifting sparingly so that she could learn to control it. Jean soon took control of it and lived life just as she always had, using men to get what she wanted.
When she was 31, Gideon died, leaving her a box full of memories and a small amount of coin. Inside the box were letters from a boy named Nicolas St. James. It seemed that her father had another child, a boy a few years older than her. The most recent letter spoke of a traveling carnival, one she recalled seeing come into the city only months before. She had suffered Alba long enough and she didn’t want to suffer her without her father by her side.
So she packed up her things and fled, walking, catching rides any way she could, and paying her way with her stolen goods to find Zion Mystique. After speaking with Kristoph, she began her job amongst the lions and tigers, merely feet away from the brother that she never met.
